Psychological testing before they get handed a badge and a gun would be a fine idea too. I am horrified by this video. And glad it is available. That poor man!

It's the same thing over and over and over and over.

Someone with a badge has an authoritarian complex and has to push. It's almost like they are looking for a reason, like they WANT to take it further. And yes...the word "almost" is probably too kind.

All of the "training" we've talked about will help, but we also need those hiring officers to look for those with a deep well of empathy, with level-headedness, with some fucking common sense and decency.

Why does it take multiple offenses to get a bad cop off the force? I am so sorry for what this gentlemen went through.

ETA: Damn, he wasn't removed from the force, he resigned.
