Washington Post columnist calls for Christie's impeachment | The Auditor
If you're going to impeach the governor, don't wait.
That's what long-time syndicated columnist Richard Cohen urged New Jersey lawmakers Wednesday in his column to act fast so they'll still have time to impeach Gov. Chris Christie before his time in office runs out.
"Someone ought to get this thing going," Cohen wrote for the Washington Post. "Christie ought to be impeached if only for choosing idiots as aides."
Sound familiar? Cohen echoes a column Montclair State University political science professor and commentator Brigid Callahan Harrison wrote for The Star-Ledger last week, in which she said if the governor knew about the lane closure on George Washington Bridge in 2013, he should be impeached.

Under oath at the Bridgegate trial Tuesday David Wildstein, who pleaded guilty as the mastermind behind the lane closures in Fort Lee, said Christie knew about the traffic jams because he bragged about it to him.
At the core of Cohen's plea: No one should have to die for Christie's political ambition. He pointed out how commuters stuck on or near one of the world's busiest bridges were put in danger because Christie's cronies were allegedly exacting political payback on Fort Lee's mayor after he refused to endorse the governor's reelection. ttp://www.nj.com/opinion/index.ssf/2016/09/conservative_washington_post_columnist_calls_for_c.html#incart_river_index
