Beyond his brutal public campaign to fat-shame Machado, Trump has long history of targeting and humiliating people for their weight. He told Barbara Res, an overweight female executive supervising the construction of his headquarters, “You like your candy.” Res said he also referred to a city official only as “the fat fuck” and taunted a lawyer over his weight.

Another former employee said Trump would tell her she looked much better thin, and kept a “fat picture” of her in his desk to remind her.

In 2003, Trump and radio shock-jock Howard Stern debated whether actress Jennifer Lopez’s derriere was too big. Trump also told Stern in 2013 that Kim Kardashian has “a fat ass.”

A producer for Trump’s reality TV show said the boss liked to keep a “funny fat guy” around because it was good for ratings.

Trump continues fat-shaming on the campaign trail. Last November, Trump’s target was a heckler who protested the candidate’s position on the government nutrition assistance program. “You know, it’s amazing,” Trump told the crowd. “I mention food stamps and that guy who’s seriously overweight went crazy. He went crazy.”
