There are uncanny similarities between what happens to Lonesome Rhodes in this movie and what's happening to Trump.

1. I can see him moving to the small time

I can also see him betting everything on a comeback and ending up broke. I can also see him pulling a Howard Hughes, pushing everybody away and holing up in that gilt monstrosity in Trump Tower while he lives on junk food and goes quietly insane.

Unfortunately, I can also see him pulling out of this one, shaken up enough to listen to some of the advice he's getting from the sleazy pros at the RNC who got Stupid elected.

I'm not making any bets on which way this man will go.

2. I have been thinking of this movie a lot. There are many similarities. Both huge hucksters.
