Trump effect: First grader beaten on school bus for being Muslim

NORTH CAROLINA - The Council on Islamic American Relations (CAIR) is calling for an investigation into the beating of a 7-year-old Muslim boy on a school bus.

The parents of the first grader said he was beaten by five students on a school bus, allegedly while they made references to Muslims and the boy’s Pakistani heritage.

Abdul Usmani’s father, Dr. Zeeshan-ul-hassan Usmani, told BuzzFeed News that his wife and three sons have left the US for Pakistan after this latest incident in a long history of discrimination towards his children and family.

“These are six and seven year old kids calling him names, with one kid punching him in the face, while two other kids attacked him, kicked him, and held his arms back,” Usmani said of his son.

He described his son “as American as you can get.”

5. Where Was The Driver?

The driver couldn't stop 7 year olds from beating up another kid? That would have taken 3 seconds.

7. Buses are disorganized chaos most of the time and kids do have a good way of hiding this

from the driver's view, who is usually more concentrated on the road. Bus monitors that are adults should be on every bus to deal with it. Drivers should drive.

And I got bullied mercilessly in school. Asperger's and bipolar.

But, not sure i'm buying that amongst 6 year olds. The standard "don't make me come back there" would at least get 90% to sit their butts back in the seats.

OK, it happens but i have concerns that the driver just didn't care because it was the foreign kid (who apparently was born in the United States, which makes him foreign, how?)

Goddammit already...I have had enough of these Trump-fueled bigots on their own, now they are encouraging (or at a minimum creating a home environment that supports this behavior) their KIDS to act out???

This is on the parents of those kids, 100%.

In my house, our children are raised to respect EVERYONE - especially those who are not popular or are 'different'. My youngest daughter has actually caught bullying and exclusion from birthday parties as a result of befriending one of the very few African-Americans in our lily-white school district. It sickens me, and tears me up that my daughter has to learn the lessons of right and wrong by being a target of kids whose parents should be (but are not) ashamed as hell.

Bullying alone is something that should never stand, but when it progresses from verbal and emotional abuse to physical abuse and intimidation, the school officials and board and local authorities MUST step in and end it, period.

Pieces of shit...their lucky I was not driving the bus because everyone one of them would have been standing outside the bus until the police arrived to take them to jail where their parent's could retrieve them.
