I Feel Like The Republican Voters Have No Clue What They Want

Every presidential election, the republicans act like their candidate is the greatest thing since sliced white bread and when they inevitably lose, they turn on said candidate and claim "they werent a real conservative! That is why Whitey McBillionare didnt win!". The problem is that their definition of "conservative" is extremely fluid and seemingly ever changing. Just 10 years ago, under Little Bush, conservative meant christian "family values" and an aggressive foreign policy. Then when McCain ran in 2008 it meant being a "maverick" with your own code of ethics and not being pinned down by the establishment. In 2010-2012 it was the tea party philosophy. No more government regulations. Free trade, whats best for the "job creators" is best for all of us.

Now under trump, the family vaules are liberal bullshit. Trump says "grab 'em by the pussy" and that is a great lesson for the children. And that iraq war, republicans never supported that shit! Free trade? That is so 2015.

There are a lot of reasons to dislike the republicans but a complete lack of coherent philosophy, besides the occasional "believe the opposite of the democrats believe", must be making the situation worse for them. To an outside observor it looks like they just want to have a president with an R next to their name. They want to win and thats it. Philosophy, core values, ethics are all bullshit. It doesnt matter what happens, whether its an unnecessary war, the destruction of an American city, a severe economic downturn, its all good as long as we can say "the president is a republican".

And look at where this lack of foundation gets them, Donald Trump. Someone with no moral compass, no ideas, no qualifications to be president. A man that is made of pure vitriol and hate because they believed (very incorrectly) that he was "a winner". Not that he would be good or even minimally component but that he would finally win back the white house. A dangerous goal that could have very well destroyed this country, if not the world, if democrats didnt step up this year.

We are going to dodge a bullet and the republican voters are going to be mad at us for not letting them get shot. Poor deluded fools.

i always think about their financial success.

Playing into the fear and hate of the uniformed electorate and making a very nice living off it.

That’s what they want..

Not really political thought. Memories of the last bogus repub conspiracy email and that's all they remember. They don't remember why Bush sr. lost to Bill Clinton. It was partially "Read my lips no new taxes" after reagan pushed the same trickle down tax stuff. Saying when the rich got richer they would invest back in for jobs and growth here. Then all they did was buy Italian yachts, foreign cars, and overseas mansions. The money didn't trickle down. And it caused everyone's taxes to be increased while Bush sr was prez. You would think those old enough to remember how trickle down worked last time they would have learned a lesson.
