Tip’ written on napkin says, ‘woman’s place is in the home’

Yup.....it happened.

What a couple left as a tip for a South Carolina food server angered her friends so much that they posted it to Facebook.

Neither the server nor her friends wanted WYFF News 4 in South Carolina to reveal their names or where they work out of fear for their jobs, but they did want to share "the tip."

The tip was not left in the form of cash. Instead, it was a note, hand-written on a napkin.

One of the friends took a picture of the note.

It reads:

"Dear (name omitted,)

"The woman's place is in the home. Your place is in the home. It even says so in the Bible. You may think that you're contributing to your household by coming into work, but you're not. While you're in here 'working' this is the reason your husband must see another woman on his way home from a long day at his work. Because you should be home taking care of the household duties, you may think what you are doing 'working' is right, it is really essentially a disgrace to his manhood and to the American family. So instead of coming to your 'job' and looking for handouts to feed your family, how's about going home and cleaning your house and cooking a hot meal for your husband and children, the way your husband and God intended, and help make America great again. Praying for families and our nation.

Love,

(Guests' last name)"
The couple signed the napkin with their last name.

The server was not ready to go on camera with her story, but offered the following information about it.

"They were a couple, mid-50s I would guess," the server said in a written note that her friend shared with WYFF News 4.

"I am not sure if they were local, having never served them before, but they did sound as though they were from this area."

Happening all over.

In a way I'm glad they are feeling brave enough to identify themselves. They have been hiding their hate and getting away with it way too long.

And as the reply to the letter showed, widows and divorced moms must be told to go to hell, right? Thje Bible that the Xtians like to quote a lot says "Judge not lest YE be judged" but of course, the religions of abraham allow people to be selective.

and once they're fed, they *then* decide they have an issue with their server, in this case being female.

they'd at least be consistent if they just asked for a male server in the first place.
i mean, they'd still be horrible people, but at least they'd be consistent.

How do they even know this woman is married???????? Maybe she's single. maybe she doesn't have any kids. Maybe she isn't even attracted to men. They don't know. Maybe she just went through a painful divorce.

And if she is married, how insulting is this to her husband? If that were my wife, I would be offended that these people would think I secretly want my wife staying home and cleaning and cooking all day. Maybe we are deeply in debt, or trying to pay a mortgage. Maybe I'm GLAD she's working so it isn't all my responsibility to worry about paying the bills. Believe it or not Fundies, some men are actually happy to be married to someone that has free will to do with her life and career as she wishes, instead of simply being a piece of property.

What a couple of brain-dead idiots. They should move to Saudi Arabia. They would probably be much happier with the treatment of women in there considering how perfectly it aligns with their beliefs.

But consider the source...your view takes on the approach of an open mind...obviously the offending parties are not.

I am raising my daughter to KICK ASS. I want her to achieve whatever greatness she aspires to. I demand excellence in her academics and so far she is on a good path. HER PLACE is where SHE (eventually) determines it to be. The thought of her (or any women) having to be committed to a life she did not choose is pretty close to the definition of slavery.

This is further evidence that the bible needs to be interpreted for a modern thinking public or it should go away.

I thought that was called "working."

In their 50's? Damn, I thought this kind of "thinking" would die out. These people have another 20+ years to pollute the planet.

Sounds like that "husband" may be "fooling around" on his "wife".

Also, I bet the " husband" is an "asshole". And the " wife" too.

If they really believed women should be at home instead of serving them, why didn't the wife cook for her husband instead of spending his hard-earned money on frivolous things like a meal in public where people work for you?

"coming to your 'job' and looking for handouts"??????????? What the absolute fuck.

SHE'S NOT EVEN MARRIED. Boyfriends don't necessarily provide for their girlfriends. Where is she supposed to get money until she gets married and begins cooking and cleaning to sponge off her husband??

"How about going home and cleaning your house..." yea you fucking plebes, how about I just abandon your table and go do that.

Next time you go to a restaurant you cheap old fucks, write this message out before you order and see what it gets you.

While I believe this story is true, I do not believe that this couple thought up this meme on their own. Fungelicals aren't well known for original thought. Somewhere, someplace behind some pulpit, some religious broadcaster's microphone, or behind some keyboard was the bozo who thought up this one.

He or she deserves to be boycotted.
