Why not allow him another 4 years? E has been doing a wonderful job.

We'll have to see what happens, but I wouldn't be surprised if he was ready to move on.

4. He wanted that gig, eight years back. It was really a tossup who was going to get VP.

At the end of the day, HRC as VEEP was TOO much change and Biden got to play the "Older/Wiser" guy on the ticket. Also, SECSTATE gave her a degree of separation which can sometimes be useful.

He has a very good grasp of foreign policy issues to the point where he can get well down in the weeds, which isn't really obvious to people who just see the jovial/sidekick side of the guy.

If he gets that job, he will probably be slightly less avuncular in his presentation, and more serious/statesmanlike.

She needs to get some new blood in the State Department. There has to be some person who has not been a Senator and the Vice President. Isn't there some young Democrat out there that has enough national security and foreign policy credentials to be promoted to Secretary of State?

7. I love Joe Biden. I supported him in '88 and '08. I'm not sure SecState is the right portfolio

He ain't what I'd call the smooth diplomat type

Joe for Secretary of Labor, Secretary of Commerce, Secretary of Transportation--something where his job was making public policy make sense for ordinary households. If there was a Department of Kickin'Ass, he'd be The Man.
