The LA Times is reporting that the emails found......
by the FBI were neither from Secretary Clinton, nor sent to the Secretary. See below

7. Here's some key paragraphs from the LA Times article:
Comey wrote in a letter to Congress that the newly discovered messages could be relevant to questions of whether Clinton and her aides mishandled classified information while she was secretary of State.
The emails were not to or from Clinton, and contained information that appeared to be more of what agents had already uncovered, the official said, but in an abundance of caution, they felt they needed to further scrutinize them. Because Comey had told Congress that the FBI had finished investigating Clinton’s server, he felt he needed to let lawmakers know that agents were looking into the case again in light of the recent discovery, the official said. |

9. You can get around that if you put your phone on "Privacy Mode" (if a Galaxy) or similar setting.
That way the LA Times can't tell it's your device.

5. Exact statement in LA Times article:
This is statement made in article:
"The emails were not to or from Clinton, and contained information that appeared to be more of what agents had already uncovered, the official said, but in an abundance of caution, they felt they needed to further scrutinize them." |

6. The weird thing about the story
is that the statement saying that no emails to or from Hillary Clinton were found on the computer was buried as a single paragraph in the story without clear attribution. That should have been the headline of the story. How good are the LA Times reporters? I think that should have been the lead item in the story. By definition, unless her assistant claims Clinton compelled her to do something illegal, it has no bearing on any legal proceedings for Clinton.
If it is the case, then I think Comey is toast. If I was Clinton's staff I would be on the phone with that reporter to determine the validity of that statement. That is something that I think they can force Comey to clearly state. That shouldn't take that long to verify. Frankly I don't think it should take long to determine whether these are new emails or ones previously disclosed. Maybe I don't understand how these email systems work. If it is state department business it is pretty sloppy even if unclassified keeping it on a shared computer. I guess I don't understand how the State department works, but we put nothing on personal computers with my employer. Our PDAs have to have a software wipe capability even if they are a personal device. |

10. According to Kurt Eichenwald at Newsweek, they too confirmed that the emails...
were not sent by/to Hillary with a gov't official:
http://www.newsweek.com/hillary-clinton-emails-fbi-comey-donald-trump-anthony-weiner-huma-abedin-514918 The disclosure by the Federal Bureau of Investigation late on Friday, October 28 that it had discovered potential new evidence in its inquiry into Hillary Clinton’s handling of her personal email when she was Secretary of State has virtually nothing to do with any actions taken by the Democratic nominee, according to government records and an official with knowledge of the investigation, who spoke to Newsweek on condition of anonymity.
The truth is much less explosive. There is no indication the emails in question were withheld by Clinton during the investigation, the law enforcement official told Newsweek, nor does the discovery suggest she did anything illegal. Also, none of the emails were to or from Clinton, the official said. |
