Re Pat Robertson, Falwell Jr. and their Trump worship

Many of the well-known "Christian," bible-beating freaks who give Christianity a bad name are out there backing Donald Trump. And they're telling their ignorant, deluded flocks to vote for him.

A thousand cheers for the students at Jerry Falwell's "Liberty University." They have denounced Jerry Falwell Jr. for backing Donald Trump. These young people are calling out the hypocrisy for what it is.

Are other Christians of conscience doing the same? Are they doing so with the main stream media ignoring them? There's no way to tell.

In the meantime, the frauds who have been out there for decades peddling Jesus like snake oil salesmen peddle poison, are the ones being heard and heeded.

Perhaps, as a non-believer, I have no right to ask about "true Christians." Nonetheless, I respect those believers who act with decency and don't try to impose their beliefs on others. So where are their voices to counter those of the TV dreck peddlers? Why aren't they screaming out their opposition to the fraudulence of Trump, the GOP and the lies of the right wing media?

As I said above, perhaps they are objecting and not being covered by the main stream media. Who knows? Nonetheless, I find it appalling that it's the bottom feeders who profit from their claims of "Christianity" who get all the attention. And that seems in keeping with the dishonesty of the American media in granting a false equivalence to the issues of the day.

Love is the main focus and anyone stating they are a christian have to live up to that focus
If you deem them not to be living up to that focus then you are justified to question

The new Prosperity doctrine that has evolved. Probably from mega-church evangelicals that found out there is a big market for their brand of populist proselytizing. And they had to find a way to excuse their growing bank accounts.
So now the wealthier you are, the more God loves you. If you are poor and for some, of the wrong race, then you are lost souls and should be shunned.

Combined with one issue concerns. Gay marriage is one, but the largest concern by far is abortion rights and availability of public funds to carry it out. Everything else is noise, turning over Roe vs Wade is paramount to getting America back to its moral high ground. (yes, torture, racism, sexual misconduct, outright lying, mocking disabled, sleazy behaviour, thrice divorced...pales in comparison). The religious right media machine....remember when Christian religous shows were only on for an hour or two every Sunday morning? Now they have their own networks and also infiltrate week day scheduling on 'regular' networks.

Combine these and we get top evangelical leaders using one issue narratives to fill their pockets ...to ....get closer to God.

Mike Pence is a right-wing evangelical wet dream. If Pence ever got to be president, this guy could turn our country back 50-75 years when it was cool to be a racist, homophobic, sexist asshole. Marriage Equality - gone! Civil Rights - Gone! Women's Right's - Gone!

A friend of mine who is a big Hillary supporter told me about a co-worker who is hard-core evangelical. She said he pretty much justified voting for Trump because in the end they would also get Mike Pence. There is even suggestion that Trump might not even make it a year as President and just turn the White House over to Pence.

I mean in the end we are voting for Clinton or Trump. One of them will have the White House come January. But Mike Pence makes it real easy for these Evangelicals to overlook Trump's very non-Christian lifestyle.

One more YUUUGE reason to keep Trump from winning.

And what makes Pence really scary is that he actually believes his wingnut dogma and is prepared to impose it on the rest of us.

How come sane people never want to impose their beliefs on others, while extremists, of every flavor, want us to live according to their beliefs?

Screw Pence, screw Trump and screw their agendas their hatreds and their demented plans for America.

Please, please, just make these horrible fucking people go away.

I'm really glad that the students of Liberty University are deciding that they are better than Falwell Jr.. I hope this trend continues!
