(153,111 posts)as gratifying as that sounds, it's probably the worst thing we could do

(12,797 posts)That won't get us a damn thing. Except maybe another f**ing right-wing sociopath to run against in 2020 who will have learned from Trump's mistakes.
================
We have a whole segment of our population that is brainwashed into thinking their own government is the enemy.
No need to confirm that for them.
Go after the fat cats with resulting tangible benefits for us all and she will be a hero.
We need to "go high".

(153,111 posts)people genuinely do have a lot to be angry about - there is a lot of despair and hopelessness out there despite what the swooners think, and I hope Hillary has learned what happens when WE THE PEOPLE becomes a side note - there's plenty more reasons why a carnival barker became the republican nominee besides racism
In my case, "rubbing salt in the wounds" includes family members; and that does not look very good for the holidays coming up.

(2,959 posts)and it won't gain us much now. I think adversaries who don't extend an olive branch, aren't willing to meet us half way, continue to threaten, brag and boast, as they did back then and through the ensuing years deserve any pain we can deliver.
I don't intend to try to inflict pain unless I encounter the usual bullshit those people have been delivering for years. Thank god I'm not an elected official.

(196 posts)What did trying to be nice to these assholes get PBO? They all flipped him off. Fuck them all, I hope they rot in hell. I will make a point of rubbing it in to my trumpanzee relatives, and I will fucking love every second of it. They can rot too.

(41,832 posts)but I hold more venom for so-called progressives who refused to support Clinton. Oh, and I have a bunch of bookmarked threads from DU that said Hillary will never win, etc.

(36,744 posts)We have a lot of rebuilding to do.
I don't plan to rub it in, but I do plan to be honest with these nutbags. The country's demographics are changing and they had better accept it graciously.
"rubbing it in" helps no one.
And if anything will just make the crazies that much more crazy.

I have no intention of acting just like a Trump supporter would.

(10,602 posts)One even pulled a shotgun on one of our state senators during a walk. And when we run into one of those pricks they are mean, angry, rude and just plain racist pigs. So why would I not care if they are politically taken behind the wood shed. They need to be electorally whipped until they whimper.

(45 posts)I can't wait to hear what he will have to say on his show on wed
I remember the following after 2012
1. He used to have this sound bite "Dedicated to making Obama a 1 term president" that was taken off the air the day after the election
2. He started talking about amnesty , which he promptly started walking back about a month later. It felt good to hear him talk about Amnesty. I knew he has to be hurting. LOL!

In certain parts of the country, that is an insult reserved for librals. It's a subtle way to give it back to them.
I'm not religious, so it has no effect on me saying it to them.

(10,602 posts)I participated for close to 30 days in a protest against a recall of one of or Senators in Colorado for supporting background checks and limited magazines. Our Senator resigned as a result. It was ugly.
I went out openly as a veteran against gun violence in support of our senator on a main road. They had their little neo nazi gun nut petition gatherers their with their supporter. I and out supporters went through days of abuse 8 hours a day. They called the cops on us numerous time.
I had the fickle finger of fate put in my face numerous times. I was even surrounded by these gun nuts one day and one put a camera right up into my face. And I had one bastard cuss me out. Yet I did not respond the whole time.
I served in a combat unit that suffered 27 killed during my tour. Luckily I was the company clerk and I always looked out for the guys. Made sure I did the best I could to serve their needs in my capacity. Yet it was a hard year.
These same bastards support Trump hands down. So I have been nose to nose with crazy ass GOPPERS who want to shoot everything up.

(9,109 posts)I'm thinking that some of the folks over at the other place deserve heaping helpings of ridicule.
Having had some of my posts deleted here and there over the years for purported (but non-existent) sexual innuendo and alleged (but non-existent) obscenity, I intend to keep my posts PG rated, but thoroughly unpleasant.

(62 posts)I'm not a vindictive person, but the Rethugs are horrible people. Hope they just go away on Wednesday. Can't wait to briefly tune into Fox news at around 10:00 - 10:30 tomorrow evening, when the election is called for Hillary.
It looks like we will re-gain control of the Senate and at least gain some seats in the House.

(26,355 posts)Especially personally to Donald Trump, rubbing salt into his inevitable narcissistic wound that he'll suffer when he goes down in defeat. He earned it.
But also to all the racist, misogynistic, homophobic, hypocritical-fundie, authoritarian white trash pieces of shit that formed his fan base and made his events look like Nuremberg rallies. Their tears will be sweet, sweet nectar.
