I Don't Think Trump Realizes He Has The Ability To Perhaps Do Good Things....

Unfortunately he has been hijacked by establishment Repugs that have taken him over and will push thru their failed policies that will damage the U.S.

When the damage has been done they will blame it on Trump. They are just using him now.

He is not smart enough to see this and that will be his downfall.

including her husband Jared's. Ivanka and Jared are well entrenched in New York society, and The New Yorker, Vanity Fair, and New York Magazine all, of course, have journalists with connections in "Kushner" circles.

The Kushners are reportedly all-in Trump supporters, and she's reportedly her father's favorite. After Jared became involved with Rupert Murdoch he became more conservative, but they seem to be very different stuff from the competing extremist factions who plan to use Trump to prey on the U.S.

The Kushners strung Christie--who prosecuted and very publicly humiliated Kurschner's father--along, then stomped on him. They're also Orthodox Jews and probably have more than a little problem with the white nationalist faction's antisemitism. Question on that is how pragmatic they are prepared to be with pragmatic predator Bannon.

Bottom line for me is, although hope is too big a word, at this point I really want Ivanka's power to grow. We shouldn't be distracted by dangling bracelets (Ivanka version of Trump steaks may be at least in part to please her father), and I could care less how many foreign leaders she helps greet.

3. He is not a "good" ethical person but a a selfish sociopath motivated by ego and greed

He only has regard for his family because of what they can do to reflect back on him positively and enhance his business enterprises, his image and his personal comfort.

He has no genuine concern for the well- being of others or the planet Earth.

believe that he's better for the nation than anyone else. "I alone can fix it." He undoubtedly believed that as he said it. And he'll believe his "fixes" are good whenever that thought pleases him.

Regarding his family, this bit from a New Yorker article describes Ivanka's attempts as a child to keep her father in her life, or perhaps more to keep herself in his life.

In “The Trump Card,” a memoir-cum-marketing manual published in 2010, Ivanka writes that her father’s divorce made her realize that “I could no longer take him for granted.” A Trump family friend told me, “It’s a close family in many ways—except it’s all about Donald all the time.” He went on, “Donald only thinks of himself. When you say, ‘Donald, it’s raining today,’ he says, ‘It doesn’t matter, I’m indoors.’”

To get on his parental radar, it appears, you had to go to him. When he moved into an apartment ten floors below Ivana and the children, Ivanka developed a new routine: “I now went down to see him every morning before school, and I also started dropping by his office on my way home in the afternoon.”

In an interview with CNN, she told a story about hiding in a janitor’s closet during recess at school, so that she could call her father. “I was probably ten years old and I’d call collect to the Trump Organization,” she said. According to a onetime associate of the Trump family, “If anyone else—even the boys—called, they wouldn’t necessarily be put through.” He added, “He never did not take a call from Ivanka. It was like a standing order.”

by right wingers. There is no hope he will move to the centre. He was surrounded by liberals when he was just a new York businessman. Then he was centrist then. Now he is not.

Trump's inability to do good things is yet another large-scale personal character flaw he's been exhibiting for many years. If something doesn't contribute to his own wellbeing, his own bottom line, he has absolutely no interest in pursuing it.
