and a financial failure of epic proportions. I want to see him ruined beyond redemption and, in the future,s being called a 'Trump' becomes the the unforgivable insult.

They all seem to be cut from the same vile and tainted cloth, save (perhaps) for Tiffany and Barron. Tiffany because she was saved by her mother. Barron because he's young, and I really suspect there is something wrong with that poor kid.

But I hope we do not give up by taking what measures ("pro-active steps to take" examples below) we can. These steps may do more good in the long run than the short run. Maybe, just maybe, a few more voters (just enough, I hope and pray) will learn that voting for trump was bad deal. Maybe they will realize this in part because taking these steps will bring that extra level of attention to these issues. Maybe some of these steps (fighting gerrymandering and voter suppression, e.g.) will decrease the numbers in Congress in the next one or two elections.

All I know is, I cannot just sit and take it no matter what trump gets away with. We cannot afford a head-in-sand approach just because trump will get away with his corruption. There are more trumps -- literally (along with a Kushner) and figuratively -- in the political pipeline. So, either roll over and let them run down the nation for all future generations or start doing what you can, even if it seems small.

Examples of pro-active steps to take (and please add ideas if you have them, 'cause I'm no expert and have just gotten ideas from others who seem to know more about this than I do):

Call the House Oversight Committee (Yes, I know: Chaffetz. But Cummings. But tie up what time of theirs you can, get what attention for these issues you can. And speaking of Cummings, if he is willing to fight this after all the crap he has been through, then for God's sake, don't just roll over!)

Call your senators and representatives, even if they are conservatives and/or trump enablers. Still voice your concerns.

If you live in a red state or congressional district (and maybe also red city/county/state district), stay in touch with political party leaders. Find out what you can do to support their efforts to fight for what is right. If they have no efforts, start requesting they develop some. (I myself am having to turn to state party leaders who do not even represent my district. That's how red my every level of jurisdiction is.)

For those who can, support those news sources which are factual. And as far as I know, all of those also are progressive. If you can donate even a small amount, that times many others doing the same will add up. (If you cannot, that's okay; there are other things you can do.)

Also for those who can, support any group/organization/association fighting for what is right, whether it be directly fighting trump corruption, protecting first amendment rights, protecting any/all constitutional rights, shedding light on hate crimes, and so forth.

Support anyone or any organization suing over gerrymandering, direct voter suppression, etc. My God, this is crucial. Gerrymandering and other forms of voter suppression have screwed us over. If nothing else, look for ways to support ANY fight against voter suppression. trump getting away with corruption is NO EXCUSE to sit around and not fight this.

I know trump will get away with whatever he wants. Malaise is right, unfortunately. The thought of it turns my stomach. But at least be heard. At least support others' efforts to combat the bigger underlying problems (support with volunteer work or calls or online getting-the-word-out ... as well as -- or instead of -- money) .

Also remember that YOUNGER voters did vote strongly for progressives. A nation-wide map of millenials' votes was mostly blue. Sure, some of them may change as they get older. But many will not -- not in the next election or two. So THAT RIGHT THERE should be reason for HOPE that working for LONG-TERM CHANGE is worth it!

Yes, I also fear that. But ...

I hope you read my entire post. The long-run is what I have in mind. The references to future trumps (literal and figurative ones), the millennial votes, and the importance of fighting gerrymandering and voter suppression are all big points in that.

Please read the whole thing. I never said what I am urging is going to prevent trump from anything. As a matter of fact, I agreed with you on that. I agreed. Please read the whole thing.
