Ohio Hunter Faces Felony Charges for Killing Mans Dogs, Is Fired From Job

A hunter accused of shooting and killing an Ohio man’s two beloved dogs is facing criminal charges — and he’s lost his job as well.

According to court records, Michael Chedester, of St. Clairsville, faces two felony counts of knowingly causing serious physical harm to a companion animal, according to the Intelligencer, the newspaper in nearby Wheeling, West Virginia.

The charges are the first of their kind under a recently signed Ohio law that allows felony counts for harm to a pet.

our last pet was a member of our family just as sure as I am. Anyone harm her would have been in serious trouble from my family if no one else.

I really dislike cruel and mean people, pretty simple

Some states require, not just allow, shooting dogs that run deer. Don't know about Ohio but he could beat the rap.

I know folks who have rightfully lost dogs due to them chasing deer (Maine).

Anyone know what the Ohio laws are?
