Trump lawyers file objection to delay Michigan recount

Donald Trump's lawyers have filed an objection to the recount in Michigan, delaying and potentially blocking a review that was slated to begin Friday.

Michigan Secretary of State Ruth Johnson (R) said that the state's Bureau of Elections received the objection from Trump representatives on Thursday, a day after Green Party nominee Jill Stein filed for a recount.

“Under Michigan law, the recount is halted when the Board of State Canvassers resolves the objection,” Johnson said in a statement. "The board, which by law must resolve the complaint within five days, is scheduled to consider resolution of the objection, tomorrow, Dec. 2.
“If the objection is not adopted by the board, the recount can commence the second business day following the board’s decision. If the board adopts the objection, the recount would be ended.”

I don't expect the recount to flip any of the states. However Trump's fear is making me rethink Michigan.

I am doubtful about changing the results elsewhere.

The recounts are a good thing ... even if it is simply to keep states/ counties "honest"

What does he possibly have to gain? He certainly doesn't care about appeasing concerns of Democrats.

The repubs are not going to allow his victory to be taken away. Even if every recount goes wildly in Clinton's favor, they have declared themselves the victors, and would fight it out longer than the cowardly Democratic party would.

from my observation. If they can find 23k uncounted democratic votes in PA. I don't see why it would be unreasonable to find that many in Michigan which is similar in size to PA and the spread is only 10 thousand in Michigan. Find 23k there and it flips the state. Given Hilary 16 additional electoral votes. If Wisconsin were also to flip due to recounts that would put her at 258 and Trump at 280. So even if Trump retains PA if 11 or more electoral voters refuse to vote for Trump he will be below the required 270 and will have to be installed by the republican congress make him even more illegitimate President.

If a dozen or more were to flip their votes in favor of Hilary and not just award them to some random person. that would put her at 270 provided Michigan and Wisconsin flip in her favor. She would be President under that scenario and I don't think there is anything the republican congress could to about it. I don't think this is likely to happen, but theoretically it could.
