(776 posts)They include racists and xenophobes and misogynists and nazis in the making. And I grant that--even if some are not of these descriptions themselves--they are enablers of these "isms." Trump was very clever in his vague campaigning. He threw out lots of different chunks of red meat for his base. Some pounced on one chunk while others were busy pouncing on other chunks. Everyone got a chunk. It was like the blind men who described what an elephant looked like. One saw only the trunk, while another the tusk and a third, the tail.
Many other trump supporters voted for him in a desperate and misguided stab at changing the system. They wanted CHANGE, dammit, and they didn't think how best to get that. And were too naive to recognize a snake oil salesman par excellence in tRump. Hillary, as qualified a candidate as she was, in no way represents change. She was the wrong candidate for a change election. The dems misread the electorate. Bigley.

Rust belt white working class people whose primary concern was the economy and jobs voted overwhelmingly for Clinton. (Yes. They did: http://www.democraticunderground.com/?com=view_post&forum=1251&pid=2638337)
The rest of them just really liked the speeches full of dog whistles and overt racism and sexism. Those were the ones who voted for trump.
Give it up. If they voted for trump, they voted for a known racist. They enabled a known racist. That means they are, undeniably, racist.
