This is like Wag the Dog.
Last night, as Trump was on tap to visit Cincinnati, police shut down expressways all over town - including one that was miles away from the route between the airport and the arena. 20 minute commutes were turned into 3+ hour nightmares. In some areas the entrance ramps were closed, in others the exit ramps (meaning you couldn't get off parking lot expressway).
This morning, the big news is "Sure it was more than half empty but what did you expect with traffic as snarled as it was...people just couldn't get there". The added twist - "But ya know, it's ALWAYS like this when a president or president elect comes to visit".
Ahhhh...no. It's actually not always like this. In fact, it's never like this. When Obama was here last summer, it was also around rush hour. And every radio station spend the entire after talking about likely road closures...and the cops started closing the roads about 15 minutes before AF1 landed. Yesterday - not a word all day about potential traffic issues and they started shutting down roads at 4:30 for a 7pm "celebration".
Manufactured chaos to cover the dismal attendance. But what did he expect coming to a county that was overwhelmingly blue in the election.
Separately, several friends tried to sign up for tickets in the days before the event. They weren't planning to attend but wanted to contribute their empty seats to the visuals of the event. Went through the whole email thing and got a note that it was "sold out". They all made comments about getting an email from the campaign around 6:45 saying - "hey, if your still available, com'on down and join us, no need for tickets - we've got lots of room for you".
What an asshat. Why did he have to chose Cincinnati for this freakshow. We got the Reds (161 games out of first place this year), we got the Bangals ('nuff said), and now we have the innuagral rally for Trump. I just know we're going to be where the meteor lands when it hits earth. LOL

Four years of popular media excuses every time Trump steps on his dick. But it was Obama's personal fault if it rained on your picnic in January.
