Gov. Mike Pence announced on ABCs This Week that Donald Trump would adopt an approach to business more historically aligned with communism than traditional free markets.
Discussing Trumps backing of a bribe financed by Indiana taxpayers to keep some jobs with Carrier in the United States (while others will still be offshored), Pence told host George Stephanopoulous that Trump would continue to intervene in private businesses with the force of the presidency.
The posture is very different from the traditional role that the Republican Party has embraced for over fifty years of free markets. It is also a 180-degree turn from what they have attacked Democrats like President Barack Obama, President Bill Clinton, and Secretary Hillary Clinton on for years with accusations of socialism.

(58,648 posts)one meme I have used for many years about China is that they have managed to meld the worst abuses of Communism and Capitalism in the operation of their country. Sounds like Trump is working toward that model.
