Enough with 2016. Democrats do not do well in midterms. That needs to end in 2018.

"Democrats already are grappling with how to defend 10 senators up for reelection in 2018 in states that Donald Trump carried, some resoundingly. Republicans are targeting a quintet of senators from conservative states where Trump walloped Hillary Clinton: Montana, Missouri, Indiana, North Dakota and West Virginia. The GOP could amass a filibuster-proof majority by running the table in those states and other battlegrounds."

Time to put 2016 to rest and get ready for 2018.

I fully expect Rethugs to come close to if not get that filibusterer-proof majority Senate in 2018. In NONE of the states you mention will Democrats come close to winning a senate seat I don't feel. Those are deep red states with most of them head by GOP governors, and the voting rights that were gained most recently via court decision will be LOST for Democrats in red states starting in 2017 and beyond, and they'll be leaving the building on steroids the next 2 years under a pence/tRump/putin administration.

from Robert Reich:

'I met briefly with Bernie and his wonderful wife Jane yesterday when they were passing through town. Despite the dark cloud of Trump about to overtake the land, Bernie is charged up. “The good news,” he said, “is this will make more people into activists. No one who cares about America will be able to remain passive.” I hope he's right.'

it will be obvious to even the most rigidly right-wing that Hair Fuehrer is an incompetent moron. I predict that there will be a massive wave for the Dems in the House elections. The Senate elections will be a lot tougher, just because of the number of D seats at stake.

Dems should pick up 3-4 seats in the House just from NC. It would take quite a wave to overcome the gerrymandering in the rest of the country though.

2016 is lost, after Trump is inaugurated, the Left continuing to focus so much on the why's and how's of Hillary's loss is essentially us wasting precious time. We need to make it as difficult as possible for Trump to get things done in Congress and that will happen if we can win seats. Which SHOULD be easier since we already know turnout across the board is always down during midterms. The Left needs to treat 2018 like it's a Presidential election cycle. If we do, we can do big things in 2018.

This is why I think the most dangerous years with Trump in office will be the first 2 when he has the most favorable Congress possible. They're going to try to ram a lot of crap through his first two years in office anticipating a Trump backlash in 2018.
