Surprise, Surprise, Surprise! Andrea Greenspan is downplaying the Bloomberg poll.

.... over samples non-whites (funny, can't recall her looking at internals on other polls and stating they over sample republicans)

... then puts up a stat showing Obama upside down on handling the economy, states Mitt is too, but doesn't put up the numbers, and never puts up a chart showing what the President up by 13 in the poll.

In 2008, whites totaled 71 percent of the vote. In this poll they total 67. So you are talking maybe 3 percent. That would still be a ten percent margin for Obama. That still doesn't count for the fact that the non white population is growing.

What the poll does is call into question some of the others that show a tight race. Polls with internals showing over sampling of Republicans.

They even had to admit that the pollster has a good track record (must run around the same social circles as Andrea) but that the poll seems to be an outlier.

I am actually O.K. with that discussion as long as they are consistent in questioning the internals.

I think whites were 74%.

Doesn't change things much and I am not disagreeing with your general comment. (Still works out to only a 3 point swing)

I'm watching Thom Hartmann right now and he's taking Darrel Issa apart like a cheap suit, explaining how "fast and furious" has become a code word for a Fox News wingnut conspiracy about Obama trying to take away the guns of white people. He's giving the full back story of this insanity. It's 'must see' TV.

because it gets viewers to tune in to see who's winning and losing at the moment.

It's all about the horse race and keeping the excitement going.

Imagine if it were a REAL horse race where the announcer is shouting out "Their neck and neck coming out of the clubhouse turn, it's gonna be close! It's Wallaway with Applebutter coming up fast! Wallaway! Applebutter! and at the finish it's,...Wallaway!,....(then in a low barely audible voice).....by fifty lengths."

This was the same Bloomberg polling org that showed the Wisconsin race a dead heat and Walker wiped the floor with the opposition.
The only poll result that matter is on November 6th.
