So, Boeing is critical of the Orange One, so the Orange One Tweets 'Cancel the Order for AF1'
http://talkingpointsmemo.com/edblog/did-boeing-get-out-of-line
This morning Donald Trump lashed out at Boeing claiming its budget for the successor to the current Air Force One is wildly overpriced.
(snip)
What prompted this?
It certainly seems that the number is off. But why did this have Trump's attention this morning? This seems like a relatively obscure issue given the range of things Trump is now working on. TPM Reader TC notes that The Chicago Tribune published this article about 20 minutes (at least according to the 7:30 AM central time timestamp; Trump tweeted at 8:52 AM eastern) before Trump tweeted.
The Tribune articles by Robert Reed starts like this ...
The brain trust at Boeing, among the city's largest companies and a global aerospace and defense powerhouse, must cringe every time President-elect Donald Trump riffs on foreign policy, especially when it comes to dealing with China.
Boeing has a high percentage of its manufacturing in the US. But it is highly dependent on exports, especially to China.

(18,672 posts)I live in WA, a huge Boeing employer. This is just fucking reckless to tweet shit like this. This guy is going to tank our economy. Anyone who owns stocks has to be wary of Trumps idiotic and ill-thought out tweets.

(9,350 posts)He tweeted out that the cost of the plan would be $4 billion. Later, he will claim credit for reducing the price of two planes to $1.65 billion. He will use that as proof of his great negotiating skills. Even when people in the media and the left try to explain that the cost for two planes was always $1.65 billion, Trump supporters will say that is a lie. They will claim the liberal media and liberals do not want to give Trump credit for reducing spending by billion of dollars. They will also claim that the liberal media is trying to hide President Obama's incompetence and how much taxpayer money he was wasting and how Trump put a stop to all of that waste.

He's a scam artist and pathological liar.

Trump creates business advisory council stacked with CEOs
President-elect Donald Trump announced the formation of a council to advise him on job creation, a group comprised of the leaders of a variety of major U.S. corporations including GE, GM, Boeing, Disney and IBM.

(12,631 posts)"The brain trust at Boeing, . . . must cringe every time . . ." doesn't really reflect on Boeing. Only on the writer and the Chicago Times.
He needs a lesson in reading for content, in addition to everything else he lacks.
