What are your plans for Inauguration Day?

It's a Friday. I think I'm going to take a vacation day. Grateful to be able to do that. I know so many don't have even one day a year off that's paid.

I don't plan on watching the ceremony, but instead will focus on some quiet reflection at home, or if weather permits, a long walk somewhere nice.

It just doesn't feel right to let it pass as just another work day. And I suspect for me it will be a very emotional day. Not just because Trump won, but because a man who I think so highly of and admire so much is exiting stage left.

It just doesnt seem like 8 years since I stood inside a high school football stadium in Springfield, Mo. the Saturday night before the election.

I grew up in Oklahoma so it was the first time I had been around so many like minded people in my life. The line snaked through a residential area. We waited 4 hours to get in. My feet were shredded by the end of the night. It was magical.

I hope however fellow DUers choose to spend the day, they find at least a moment or two of peace.

Politics has been my "hobby" forever and even more so since the Internet. But this is sooo hard to watch!

I remember Obama's first inauguration. Sitting with my daughters and young grandson. How happy we all were! And so proud!

Perhaps out of curiosity I will watch until the moment when Obama is symbolically no longer the president.

I am still having a hard time with this whole thing! When I wake up in the morning, I lay there thinking about what I have planned for today. Then the thought of tRump being president crosses my mind and i am wide awake. But then I don't want to get out of bed!!!

I am looking forward to the protests! I know they will be there. And tRump does too, that is why he is suggesting this helicopter stunt!

Tacky frat boy at the helm!!!! Hard to feel peaceful, but I will do it for myself and my family!

Too much risk of an accident, and if that happens, then it's President Pence.

Of course, there may be enough room in front of the Capitol Building to land a helicopter on the lawn near enough to the podium for a "grand entrance", if, as I suspect, it's only the dedicated Trumpettes and whatever brown-nosers are in DC there to watch "their hero" completing this season's finale of "White House Apprentice".

They originally weren't going to do it due to the tumor being the size of a marble but because he has a kidney disease-you have to be cancer free for 5 years to get on the transplant list,he's having it done.

Probably ill advised, but it might keep me out of jail because I am still righteously pissed off..

With that realization firmly in mind, a local rally and march is likely gonna be it. I might catch a train with some of my fellow evil women and hit the streets in Chicago, but as depressed as I am right now that bag and bottle are really sounding pretty attractive, and a whole lot safer.

Lucky me, I don't own a TV, although I certainly watch plenty of stuff thanks to the internet.

Were Hillary Clinton being inaugurated, I'd probably be watching.

Back on January 20, 2001, my (now ex, although it has nothing to do with politics) husband did turn on the TV to watch, and as soon as Bush took the oath I said, "Well that's his first lie."

Little did I know how right I really was.

I'm taking the day off to participate in the calexit rally in downtown LA. I figure if it (calexit, yescalifornia.org) gets enough popularity then the next presidential candidates may have to address why the one of the richest and strongest states want to leave the union. Maybe if more blue states propose the same type of referendum, maybe they'll listen. Why should my progressive blue state live under your regressive red laws?

Then doing the women's march in LA on Saturday.

And trying to remain positive.
