Anyone remember Stephen King's book Firestarter? The ending?

The little girl with the pyrokinetic powers, Charlie, is a danger to a secret government agency that covets her - then fears her. End of the book (spoiler, I guess), her dad is dead, but he implored her before death to get her story out media that is independent from the government.

She decides to tell her story to the Rolling Stone (that's when the book ends). It is charmingly naive.

My question - who or what is today's Rolling Stone - what will get the truth out, and most important, so that something can - will - be done about it. Most if not all of our "Rolling Stone"s were rolled by Trump already. Or in his pocket. Or someone else's. Who is standing up for us?

I think that where we are is that serious - it is dire.

I've been thinking more of "The Dead Zone" lately. nt. dflprincess Dec 2016 #1
Yes - that's come to mind as well. Both books have parts that relate to where we are today NRaleighLiberal Dec 2016 #2
