Now I understand McConnell's strategy regarding Garland and the Supreme Court...

...he *knew* the GOP would steal the election. He knew about Trump/Putin, what Comey would do, everything. He knew the deck was stacked. That the fix was in. Why would he respect anything Obama did, much less permit him a Supreme Court seat? Turtleman is as much of a traitor as Comey and Trump, and I will go to my grave believing it.

There is one word for that and he needs to be brought up front and center before an independent hearing in a trial for treason.

He was blatant in saying his aim was to make Obama a one-term president. What kind of representative of his constituents is that? Although a native and current resident of Pennsylvania, I lived in south-eastern Kentucky for some years,( not in McConnell territory). My friends and neighbors were pretty much the same as those I know in PA. these days: thinking critically loses when trying to believe someone will "fix" things". I'm politically active locally, but have become frustrated by the focus on the political destruction of 'the other side,.' My mom was a politically active Democrat in the very Republican town where I grew up. She met and introduced JFK when he was barnstorming the country and appeared locally. Things are different these days. Lately Republicans are following McConnell politically . Obstruct! Anything which might benefit the country is far less important than the job they were elected to ( deal partisan, rather than nationally).

got together on Obama's inauguration night and proclaimed they would block everything he tried to do.

Flashback - Inauguration Day January 20, 2009

As President Barack Obama was celebrating his inauguration at various balls, top Republican lawmakers and strategists were conjuring up ways to submarine his presidency at a private dinner in Washington.

According to Draper, the guest list that night (which was just over 15 people in total) included Republican Reps. Eric Cantor (Va.), Kevin McCarthy (Calif.), Paul Ryan (Wis.), Pete Sessions (Texas), Jeb Hensarling (Texas), Pete Hoekstra (Mich.) and Dan Lungren (Calif.), along with Republican Sens. Jim DeMint (S.C.), Jon Kyl (Ariz.), Tom Coburn (Okla.), John Ensign (Nev.) and Bob Corker (Tenn.). The non-lawmakers present included Newt Gingrich, several years removed from his presidential campaign, and Frank Luntz, the long-time Republican wordsmith. Notably absent were Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) and House Minority Leader John Boehner (R-Ohio) -- who, Draper writes, had an acrimonious relationship with Luntz.

Republicans had it in for Obama before Day

At first, we thought organized Republican recalcitrance against the president started in October 2010 after Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) famously said, “The single most important thing we want to achieve is for President Obama to be a one-term president.”
