Denver Police SEIZING Blankets From Homeless As Evidence Of Violation Of Camping Ban.

Temperatures in Denver have been 20 degrees to 0 degrees overnight. Shelters are over capacity. No new shelters are planned.

It is against the law in Denver to lay down on public space. You can be arrested and ticketed for violating a "camping ban" since the days of the Occupy Movement. Denver was one of the most aggressive cities in the country to dismantle the Occupy Movement. Back then even if you honked in support when driving by the encampment you were stopped and ticketed.

Local news in Denver on Friday showed Denver police taking all the blankets of homeless people who were on the street. The city has taken an aggressive stance and is seizing all the belongings of homeless people. They claim they are trying to force them to go to shelters. It is doubtful there is enough space in the shelters that are available.

Some shelters are run by religious organizations where you must pray for your supper. There are virtually no programs to help the homeless changer their fate.

So where are homeless people supposed to go. Home prices in Colorado are exploding beyond affordability for anyone even at $15 an hour. Rents are at a record high and vacancy rates are at record lows.

The GOP agenda will make matters worse and homeless will increase dramatically. With no safety net we will have a much larger national crisis. It looks like Nazi Germany more and more every day.

There are other reasons why America is coming to resemble the Third Reich, but homelessness isn't one of them. What we are seeing is a supreme disregard of the ruling class for the welfare of the people, which is more like pre-Revolutionary France or Russia. The wealth concentration also reflects this.

I was addressing the attitude toward the homeless as much as anything. Also how GOP policies will add to that population.

The Denver City Council is cobalt blue as are virtually every officeholder up to the mayor. They voted overwhelmingly for the camping ban and so own it. Perhaps the City and County of Denver can use one of the buildings in their corpulent real estate portfolio as cold weather shelters.

Yet the GOP has pursued policies nationally and where they hold power that cause homelessness.

Where are people supposed to go if shelters are at capacity? Pretty much every inch of this country is "owned" by someone! It's not like days of old when people could more easily erect a shelter out in the wilderness and forage for food. You'd likely get arrested if you tried that now.

What's the end game? Filling up our prisons, killing off these people from neglect... or both?
