"How many country leaders have the USA/CIA overthrown or killed?"

My Guatemalan friend asked me that today over coffee. We were discussing the Russian interference into our election. I had to pause for a minute

(OK, I know this ^ does not make what just happened in our election right much less deserving to us)

But I saw the USA this morning from another's eyes, an outside pair.

We've been doing this to other countries for years in order to get American friendly leaders into power. Eventually, I'm afraid what "goes around comes around."

But before that there was the Rose Revolution in Georgia and the Orange Revolution in Ukraine.

It's called blowback. The CIA, since its inception, has been undermining governments around the world. Here's a short history:

1948
The CIA corrupts democratic elections in Italy by broadcasting propaganda, buying votes, threatening and assaulting opposition leaders.

1953
The CIA overthrows the democratically elected Mossadegh in Iran and installs a dictator in his place.

1954
The CIA overthrows the democratically elected Jacob Arbenz Guzman in Guatemala.

1957-1973
CIA carries out a coup-a-year in Laos to try to nullify Laos's democratic elections.

1961
CIA assassinates the democratically elected Patrice Lumumba in the Congo(Zaire).

1963
The CIA overthrows the democratically elected Juan Bosch in the Dominican Republic.

In Ecuador, the CIA assists the Ecuadoran military to overthrow President Arosemana.

1964
The CIA helps the Brazilian military to overthrow the democratically elected government of Joao Goulart.

1965
In Indonesia, the CIA overthrows the democratically elected Sukarno.

1973
In Chile, the CIA assassinates the democratically elected president, Salvador Allende, who was Latin America's first democratically elected socialist.

And this is probably not an exhaustive list of the CIA's interference in foreign elections, but it sheds light on what our CIA has sown in the name of anti-communism. So why, you ask, is Russia the avenger of these election interferences, and not Italy, Iran, Guatemala, Brazil, etc.? Because Russia has the capability to wage an all out cyber and propaganda war against us. And, not only does Russia have many scores to settle with us, but they want to rebuild their empire. With their blatant and outrageous interference in our election, they're showing us the cost of our interference in their foreign meddling around the world.

Do we still want the CIA to wage this continuous cold war with Russia. Haven't we had enough of this?

I hate that Russia has helped make Der Trumpenfuhrer our PEOTUS. What we should do is bombard Trump's tenure with what Russia did and never call him anything but Putin's Puppet.

The people who will most likely be hurt by a Trump administration were just the people most likely to oppose that kind of adventurism.

The people that will most likely benefit from a Trump administration are just the people most likely to support that kind of adventurism.

The bad guys win again or we just got reamed again.

Truth be told the USA/CIA has been involved in copious overthrows of democratic governments.
And not only the US but also other Western powers. Britain is up there as well.
