I take no pleasure in posting this, but this country doesn't care

There is nothing that is now seemingly coming to light that wasn't absurdly obvious LONG before November 9th.

And, either way, I look at my facebook, my other social media, I am out and about as the store, the gym, the community holiday festival, and not a single person has said boo about anything related to Trump or the election, outside of SOME of my democratic friends on facebook.

Honestly, hear more whiney ass victim conservatives balling about their usual stupid ass shit about the evil liberal boogyman than anyone up in arms over Trump, who is stacking his admin, the crazy shit Rs are putting into the chute in congress.

People are shopping, decorating, going out to eat, the normal pre christmas stuff.

Its over. I mean it is over like invasion of the body snatchers over, because we just elected a full on half meglomaniac, half moron President of the United States and Rs are drooling at the thought of blowing up SS and Medicare, and this country seriously could give a shit.

Not be an ass, because this is the 1/3 that does actually care, but people here aren't getting the math.

This country is neatly cut into thirds right now.

1/3 democrats who see what is happening plain as day and care.
1/3 republicans who would rapidly defend republicans if they were throwing all of the children a volcano.
1/3 "independents" and the people who just don't vote who will sluggishly follow the mad hater republicans into whatever rate hole they are leading the country into.

So, the math is - 2/3 of the country either will enthusiastically support the crazy ass shit coming down the pike or are willing to accept it.

People don't get it, but we are now an emergent authoritarian, fascist state.

this year was a barrage of outrage, screaming headlines. It was a long election campaign. I think the noise from Trump all year has numbed us to the point where we're not surprised at anything anymore and more apathetic as a result.

The rest of the country, not so much.

Republicans have been foaming at the mouth to gut SS and Medicare my entire life, and have gotten crazier by the day, but the last 6 years have seen the country give them more and more power in congress and at the state level with each election.

That we see the plainly obvious, 1/3 of people are completely and totally removed from reality and 1/3 of people are in some fog where they just follow the people screaming the crazy ass shit.

There is nothing we can say or do ...

It won't be pretty, and it sure as hell won't be enjoyable, but it'll be over soon. I just hope whatever country absorbs what's left of us merciful.

A lot of people in this country are apparently fucking stupid. But, in time and with work, a majority of people will wake up.

At least that's what I hope.
