Powers waged against developing countries. Interference in our elections has long been the norm.

Russian assessment

According to Anthony Cordesman of the Center for Strategic and International Studies, Russian military leaders view the color revolutions as a "new US and European approach to warfare that focuses on creating destabilizing revolutions in other states as a means of serving their security interests at low cost and with minimal casualties."

Chinese view

Articles published by the Global Times, a state-run nationalist newspaper, indicate that Chinese leaders also anticipate the Western powers, such as the United States, using 'color revolutions' as a mean to undermine the one-party state. An article published 2016-5-8 claims: A variation of containment seeks to press China on human rights and democracy with the hope of creating a "color revolution.

The real problem is that having trained people to commit these criminal acts overseas, some have brought it home

The key point is whether they conform to "international norms", i.e. are sufficiently subservient to the American system.

But we have no inherent objection to one-party states and have worked to establish and support them from time to time, e.g. in Chile. Post-war Japan, Taiwan and South Korea were essentially one-party systems that we supported.

Nor do we have any inherent objection to Facism, since we were friendly with Spain's Franco for decades, and entered into an alliance with the Pact of Madrid in '53.

and it is the shared undemocratic view of the planet by both parties that has inflicted severe damage on the Democratic Party.
