We got .3% and the amount taken out for Medicare was raised the exact same amount so we didn't get even a penny more money in our pockets.
How many years in a row is this?

(31,381 posts)This year was the first year I was eligible for Medicare, so that took a big bite out of my SS check. I filed when I was 62 because I figured
it would take 12 more years for me make up for the amount I'd get from age 62 to 66, even taking in the difference of getting my full amount
at age 66. I'm glad I did because it's looking less and less like SS will be around for those 12 years.
Bah, humbug.

(10,167 posts)I hope we still have SS or there will be a LOT of starving old goats lying around. I plan to steal stuff from Walmart if that happens, on a daily basis, sort of as a job.
