Fmr GOP Rep Joe Walsh says Trump's behavior almost an act of treason (VIDEO)

Former GOP Congressman appeared on MSNBC after his tweet storm in which he demanded action from Trump on Russian influence on our election. Joy-Ann Reid covered the Russian/Trump scandal in detail on AM Joy.

Stephanie Ruhl started the segment playing Trump dismissing the CIA report and then quoted a Walsh tweet admonishing the president-elect.

Ruhl asked Joe Walsh what now referring to Trump's dismissive response of the CIA. The following are the representative compressed snippets from his wordy interview.

"I went after this during the campaign, Stephanie," Walsh said. "But I mean, think about it. You are right. The Washington Post came out Friday night and said Russia attacked us. Now you knew, and a lot of us knew that this was probably going on. But it was confirmed with that Washington Post report. And they specifically said the CIA said they did it to help get Trump elected. You mess around with our democratic elections; that's an attack on our country. ... I mean, think about it Steph, the CIA said Russia is messing with our election. And Trump attacks the CIA instead of attacking Russia. He's got to man up and own this. ... Donald Trump has a little bit of time here Stephanie. He's got to adjust what he is saying and come out really strong against Russia. And most importantly, demand an investigation. And Stephanie, it's not just him. I am so disappointed in the reaction from my Republican Party in the last two days. We were attacked. And yet very few of them are calling for an investigation. ... For him to side with Russia and not our intelligence agencies, man that's almost an act of treason."

Trump voters and novice R pols may see some advantage in backing Trump supporting Putin over the CIA, but that is a short-term position that will die as the story progresses.

Beck and Walsh realize that, and are smart enough to take a position now that will look good later, especially as others are being labeled with the flip-flop label.
