Report: Dad bounced mobile home up and down with loader in hopes of getting rent from son

PARSONSFIELD, Maine — A 50-year-old man, apparently upset with his 27-year-old son over rent payments on a mobile home, allegedly used a construction-grade front-end loader to pick up the mobile home and drop it on the ground — at least three times, according to York County Sheriff Bill King.

King said witnesses told deputies that John Bubar then began to drive the bucket of the vehicle into the home, stopping only when he learned his 7-year-old grandson was still inside. The boy was not hurt.

The incident played out at about 2:15 p.m. Sunday. King said the mobile home was significantly damaged.

King described in a statement what allegedly took place: “York County deputies responded to the 400 block of Pendexter Road for a report of a disturbance. Upon arrival, deputies learned that John Bubar, 50, was having a dispute with his son, Michael, 27.

He rented them out, mostly fully furnished, for a very reasonable price. He had some lots that he let people move their own homes onto and just charged lot rent.

Anyways, his son was strung out on meth so bad, and had been for a long time, that the doctors had given him only about 6 months to live if he did not quit immediately and start getting treatment, proper nutrition, etc.

The father found out that the son was getting a lot of the meth from someone in one of the rental trailers. He served an eviction notice, which was ignored, so he tried to get the Sheriff's Office involved. They told him that they could not help at the time because the eviction notice he first served wasn't legal.

The guy really flipped his wig then and decided to take the law into his own hands. He figured that since he owned the home, and the property it sat on, that he could do whatever he wanted to with it. ... and promptly took a bulldozer to the trailer. Someone called the cops, but they could not make him stop. When he finished, he still would not give up yet, and lead the cops on a slow speed chase back to his house. He wanted to make sure his dozer was home safe before giving up.

Peace,

Ghost
