I got a raise of .3% and my Medicare increased from $104.90 to $110.00 after my 10% I have
withheld from my benefit for taxes I am getting exactly to the penny what I got last year. My Medicare supplement
insurance increased $11.65 a month so in 2017 I will take home $11.65 a month less than last year. Now the Republicans are
planning to cut benefits, that's making "Merica Great Again".

(7,719 posts)....the republicans are going to take as much as they can...it's what they do. Rich people always want more and more is never enough. They cant get it from the rich cuz they're so damned tight they hide their money, so they always wind up getting it from the little guy. And, they are always looking for ways to take more! They raise our taxes, lower our benefits, make us pay fees, make us buy shit we don't want or cant afford, cut the quality of what we are getting or just flat make us do without. They've got congress in their pocket because those bastards are takers, too. We can't win...and it's kept that way on purpose.
If we want to make America great again, the only way to do it is to make the wealthy pay, and pay dearly. There's not a lack of money, just a lack of people who have it. Time for a major redistribution. They did it after the great depression. The top marginal tax rate went as high as 91%!

(35,296 posts)that our SS will cut to compensate for that in some cases. What they call means testing. Most people don't know this
but since 1983 SS has been means tested I have to pay taxes on 85% of my SS benefits now.
