That's a scenario that hasn't been discussed much. Maybe there's a strategy that could push him to the point where he said, "Screw it! I'm out!" I don't know what would push him to that breaking point, but maybe there's a way.
Even up to the day of the inauguration, he could refuse. Is there some way he could be shamed, embarrassed, frightened or angered enough to do that? In reality, I suspect he is a fragile, brittle person.
I think it's worth talking about. It could actually be our best opportunity.
What do you think? How could we help make this work?

(3,427 posts)There's obviously something in those returns that he really, really doesn't want made public. I don't think he's capable of being shamed, but if he had to disclose his tax returns as a condition for taking office, he might decide it's not worth it. Otherwise, I can't imagine him backing out after he's come this far.

(42,609 posts)Predictions about Trump quitting have appeared here at every stage of the process. He would drop out before the convention. He would drop out during the convention. He would refuse to debate. He would drop out before the last debate. he would drop out before election day.
Wishful thinking. Nothing more.
