God forgive us. This is the work of the same man who stole our election. My only consolation is that Trump, in turn, stole the Time Magazine Person of the Year Award from Putin, which Putin totally deserves.

We have also been informed that pro-Government forces have been entering civilian homes and killing those individuals found inside, including women and children.

Multiple sources have reports that tens of civilians were shot dead yesterday in al-Ahrar Square in al-Kallaseh neighbourhood, and also in Bustan al-Qasr, by Government forces and their allies, including allegedly the Iraqi al-Nujabaa armed group.

...

In all, as of yesterday evening, we have received reports of pro-Government forces killing at least 82 civilians (including 11 women and 13 children) in four different neighbourhoods -- Bustan al-Qasr, al-Ferdous, al-Kallaseh, and al-Saleheen.

We hope, profoundly, that these reports are wrong, or exaggerated, as the situation is extremely fluid and it is very challenging to verify reports. However, they have been corroborated by multiple reliable sources.

That doesn't require us to get involved in another middle east conflict. Syria is a mess all around and there's no clear side we should ally ourselves with. Assad at least maintained a secular government, while those trying to take over the country want to institute Islamic law and persecute religious minorities. It's just an ugly situation all around with no clear 'right thing to do'.

fear of reprisal from the US, this will happen more and more. Trump will be giving dictators everything they want in return for financial gain. For all intents and purposes Trump is now dictating foreign policy. With few weeks left before Obama is out of office the despots know anything he does will be undone on day one.

No way will anyone associated with the rebels be given mercy.

If the Free Syrian Army had won, we'd be reading these same headlines about ethnic groups loyal to Assad.
