In the wake of the CIA investigation that concluded Russia helped President-elect Donald Trump win the election, there has been an uproar from both Republicans and Democrats over the revelation. In addition, Trump’s dismissive response and his criticism of the CIA has caused disgust on both sides of the isle.
Now comes word that Democrats will file treason complaints against President-elect Trump, close Trump surrogate Rudy Giuliani, Senator Mitch McConnell of Kentucky, and FBI Director James Comey, who has been accused of knowing of Russia’s meddling in the election, but nonetheless chose to keep it quiet. He also curiously re-opened the investigation into Clinton’s emails right before the election. Many believe it influenced the outcome and gave Trump the presidency.

America’s new president-elect has turned heads and dropped jaws throughout the entire campaigning process, and despite him receiving nearly 3 million less votes than Hillary Clinton, he has managed to “win” the election. Since that time, Donald Trump has done nothing but prove his ineptitude to complete his new duties without getting us all killed.
A couple days ago, the CIA released information about Russia’s involvement in the 2016 presidential election, and since then, Trump has spoken out against the government systems that ensure we have checks and balances that help create the democracy America has been going for these past few centuries.
This has Democrats and Republicans alike furious about the behavior of our newly “elected” leader, and now, the Democratic Coalition has announced via Twitter that Democrats will be filing charges of treason against Donald Trump, Rudy Giuliani, Mitch McConnell, and FBI director, James Comey.

The Democratic Coalition announced this morning that their formal treason complaints against President-elect Donald Trump, Republican Senate Majority leader Mitch McConnell, Rudy Giuliani and FBI Director James Comey will be promptly filed on Monday morning.
PAC head Scott Dworkin appeared on MSNBC with Joy Reid this morning to discuss his report detailing three decades worth of Trump’s Russian ties when he announced the Democratic Coalition’s plan to formally accuse those four officials.

Washington, D.C. - October 28, 2016 - The Democratic Coalition Against Trump filed a complaint with the Department of Justice Office of Professional Responsibility on Friday against FBI Director James Comey for interfering in the Presidential election, following the FBI’s decision to open up an investigation into Secretary Clinton’s emails this close to Election Day. Federal employees are forbidden from participating in political activities under the Hatch Act.
“It is absolutely absurd that FBI Director Comey would support Donald Trump like this with only 11 days to go before the election,” said Scott Dworkin, Senior Advisor to the Democratic Coalition Against Trump. “It is an obvious attack from a lifelong Republican who used to serve in the Bush White House, just to undermine her campaign. Comey needs to focus on stopping terrorists and protecting America, not investigating our soon to be President-Elect Hillary Clinton.”

Filing a complaint for treason is not the same thing as charging someone with treason; additionally, the filing is from a Democratic super PAC, not a group of Democratic senators.
You used their headline, which is very, very false. I'd advise you consult the list of fake news sites before posting links. It's better to stick to real news sites — LA Times, NYT, WaPo, etc. — where they verify things instead of sites that tell you what you want to hear.

(42,703 posts)Where were they filed? Are they anything more than letter alleging that treason has been committed and asking for an investigation -- something any one of us could do and that doesn't require any response from those with whom it has been filed?
It's noteworthy that the DemocraticCoalition website has a big button labeled "donate" but doesn't seem to have any reference to their big news complaint "charging" Trump et al with treason. In fact, this group has a pretty well established pattern. They announce they are (or have) filed a "complaint" charging someone with some criminal act but it turns out that all they did was write a letter to some government agency or official asking that an investigation be conducted -- a request that has does not legally compel the recipient to do a damn thing. And, also notably, they often don't even bother to post copies of these "complaints" on their website so people can see what they really are.
