I'm going to the Santa Fe, NM march - I guess I'll be crocheting me a pink pussyhat.

(21,020 posts)Won't be attending any events, but those hats are seriously cute enough to wear all winter long!
I'll have to check to see if I have any pink yarn lying around...I need a project to work on

(21,020 posts)of being a consistent knitter/crocheter is that there's always a "stash" of yarn around someplace.
My stash used to be lying around in various spots in the house till I organized it.
Yeah, right....
It's starting to creep out and take over the house again.

(94,333 posts)The coverage of this rally will report the crowd size, the demographics, and the notable speeches. It won't pay attention to the headgear, and very few people watching a video clip will understand what they're seeing, or be swayed by it. If it does something for you, knock yourself out, but don't imagine you'll be "sending a message" to anyone who didn't already support your effort.

(10,128 posts)DC can be rather chilly in January, or so I've heard.

(8,661 posts)I'm a very visual person and if I watched news coverage and saw lots of women wearing pink hats, it would peak my curiosity esp. if the hats had little ears on them. It's a nice political visual.

(8,661 posts)Women were passing out skirts to each other and to any women who did not have one. it was a great visual to see all the women in colorful skirts.

(58,785 posts)to be set aside in favor of sending a silly national message of being against pussy-grabbing?
Russia and FBI Director Comey are only two of the forces manipulating from the shadows to elect Trump. Just not that important?
How about the fact that we elected our first woman president by a substantial margin, but the elector college is going to elect a dangerous buffoon over us?
Extremist factions plan the dismantling of our government, ultimate goals no SS, no Medicare, no ACA, no public schools, no EPA, etc. Boring compared to pussy-grabbing?
They're going to sell (give!) our public lands to locusts to destroy and cancel our agreement with the Paris climate treaty.
It's likely Trump means it when he says the states will decide on abortion. A majority are run by hard-right governments now, and they will pass anti-abortion laws and worry about SCOTUS later--but only if it turns out they have to.
Just maybe our crotches aren't where we should be directing the nation's attention. That's what we're saying.

(58,785 posts)Let's hope the head gear gets a pass, because if the media do cover it that's ALL they will talk about, a silly, degraded, very undignified, anti-pussy-grabbing "message."

(455 posts)We should never forget, not even for a moment, that our president-elect BRAGGED about sexually assaulting women by grabbing em by their p*ssy. It's a reminder of how he views us- not as people, but as walking reproductive parts there for his personal pleasure.

(63,799 posts)little boys chasing little girls grabbing their private parts because this sick ass man did it, so it's okay.
Our moral compass is gone. There is so much hate and division now among people. Trump unleashed all of this and he is oblivious he just does not care.
