In Canada and Northern Europe arctic oil and gas profits will be used to advance social programs and mitigate problems caused by climate change.

The current mass extinction event we are now witnessing will accelerate because we can't quit fossil fuels and we can't stop encroaching upon remaining wilderness. Parts of the world will become uninhabitable, underwater, or so hot that if the power fails and air conditioners stop people will die.
