Oh, but fuck, it's bad out there.
The news feels like we're on the Titanic. Aleppo, the Cabinet, the CIA report, GOP complicity in the quasi-fascist corrupt, corporate-sponsored mess, and all those fucking hate crimes. It seems endless. IT'S NOT!!
I'm not standing for it. I'm not gonna scamper around looking for a life boat off sinking ship. It feels like he and his corporate cronies and his right wing dupes are coming at us from all sides. It almost feels like there's too much to do.
There's not. Stop thinking that way. Despair is not useful right now. We have to dig in and mount up and get in the way of the big orange machine. We can fight only one fight at a time. But we are many. We won the election. We know most of Trump's voters were conned and betrayed. We know we're standing up for real American values: inclusion, opportunity, equality, compassion, and liberty and justice for all.
Let's do it on this this date:

I would like to ask DUers who check into this thread to start planning. Find people in your neighborhood, in your city, in your family even, and organize a meeting. Find out if there's a MoveOn or Water Defender (Mni Wiconi!) or ACLU, or union hall, hell, even a left of center Illuminati group meeting going on and join them. If they're not meeting yet, then invite them over to your place. Hold a meeting, take some photos to inspire the rest of us, and report back to us the next day.
Come up with an agenda for your meeting, come up with a list of nonviolent resistance actions you can take, and then get out and do them. Be creative. I strongly recommend listening to MLK's "Beyond Vietnam" speech and reaffirming principles of nonviolence at the meeting.
Over the last two weeks I've been talking with friends, who range from polite suburban liberals to shaggy haired artists and a couple of shamans in for good measure. We've come up with a list of twenty...
Things Trump Must be Stopped On
1. The rounding up of undocumented immigrants
2. The ban on Muslim immigration
3. The targeting/registration of Muslim in any form
4. Rollbacks on LBGTQ Americans rights
5. Privatizing Medicare and Social Security
6. Construction of a Mexican border wall
7. Criminalization and restriction of abortion rights
8. Dismantling/non-enforcing equal pay laws
9. The return to torture policies in anti-terrorism fight
10. Recriminalization of marijuana/support for pharma industry exploitation
11. Denial and inaction on global climate change (including expansion of coal & fracking activities and reduction of renewable energy investment)
12. Repealing/non-enforcement of environmental protection laws
13. The dismantling of the Affordable Care Act
14. The expansion of "stop and frisk" police policies
15. Backing away from European alliances & commitments
16. Tacit support for Russian aggression in Middle East and eastern Europe
17. Abandoning trade deals, threatening trade wars
18. Attacks on unionization, workers rights, and OSHA regulations
19. The upper class tax cut
20. The renegotiation of the national debt
Have you ever wondered what you would do if you were in Europe during the rise of totalitarianism... would you risk your comforts to fight or would you be one of those well meaning people who lacked the courage to do more than just duck down low and wait for a leader to emerge? Of what if you were in America 50 years ago, facing the challenges of the 60s -- Civil Rights, Vietnam, rampant pollution--would you have had the courage to face that fight?
Now is your chance to find out what you're made of. Now your country--and really your world--is calling you to fight for your values. I'll tell now my meeting goes. You show me yours.

Basically the cutting edge of truth denial.
