It seems the media talks about Russia having influenced the election as if they were an ally...

Nominally Russia is a US ally sure. But truthfully we all know it has been an uncomfortable and strained relationship, all smiles and handshakes on the outside, saber rattling and espionage on the inside. The media IS of course reporting on this as a serious mater but not to the degree I think that it really is. They seem to be treating it as much as anything as a failure of US intelligence, which of course it is, and not the serious alarm bell that it is given the nation this arose from.

They are treating this as if France, or some other actual ally, had somehow influenced the election to their own ends. Mainly a failure of mechanisms on this end, something to be seriously looked into the way a failure of say a security drill of a mock terrorist attack on the Whitehouse. This isn't a drill, the mechanisms that failed are real, and the parties at play are NOT our allies.

Why are we not talking about this in the same breath as we are about the genocide that is taking place in Syria? The fall of Aleppo may be one of the worst humanitarian disasters in a life time. Already the Syrian war is a disgusting atrocity. And who has been playing an active role in said war, why Russia. This is not the country you would want to choose if you had any choice in a foreign power exerting control over your internal politics. I'm sure most people know that at a gut level but it needs to be in the media front and centre spelled out.

In as much as the media is just like any other multinational mega corporation. They are all friends with Russia. And China, and any other nation that is big business for them.
