I point out to them that if a bunch of first graders getting shot to death in school didn't get their guns taken away, nothing will.

Those families will never be the same. I still cry for them.

7. Rough day for me and mine

Most of you who know me know that my friend and co-worker lost a child that day. My friend's life was shattered to bedrock. We are a small, family-owned company, and half the office is out today on "personal leave." The rest are stumbling around like zombies. This is still an open wound to us.

I am here to support my comrades, with a heavy heart. My office door will be closed most of the day, and the office supply person was kind enough to order extra boxes of tissues.

Please spare a moment of your day to remember 20 children and six educators.
