But it's not like he votes against us when we are in the majority. We can either be a permanent minority party or we can be a big tent coalition with Dems that cross the aisle every once in a while. Let's not have a heart attack every time a Blue Dog democrat up for reelection in 2018 does something that pleases their constituents that also voted for Donald Trump. It's going to get tiring.

You think Manchin is going to lose the primary to someone more liberal than he is? Have you seen the candidates that the WV Dems field? Have you seen the people that win elected office in WV? The best way to obstruct Trump is to regain the majority. We're not going to do that if we don't put in the best candidates to win their individual state. His job is to please the voters of WV, not liberals in CA or NY.

13. Manchin is fighting for his life

He will lose in 2018 unless he does something good for WV. He worked with Toomey on his gun control bill and now all my neighbors vow to vote against him (I live in WV)

He tried to do something on those miners health benefits and the GOP fucked him. They know if they give him any good PR they cannot defeat him.

I think it's better to have a democratic senator who will vote with us on 1 bill than a GOP one who will vote on none. So in that way Manchin is good.

I think the Dems and Bernie should take up this miners health benefits bill and make a big stink about the GOP not working on it. Shelley Moore Capito our GOP senator should have done something and they should work at making her look bad in to WV voters, rub her nose in it.

Total honesty here. I have never voted for Manchin in any race in WV. I've always voted third party. First he lost a gubernatorial primary to Charlotte Pritt but then helped "Democrats for Underwood" the republican in the race. Then I was a public employee and Manchin was terrible to us as governor, I don't know any WV public employee who voted for him he was so demeaning to us.

Still I'd prefer him over any GOP who might win in WV and I dearly hope he wins re election but I think after his gun vote a dog may beat him here unless dems do something to help him. Which i think they should.
