K&R means "Kicked & recommended". You commented on the post so that gives it a kick. Enough kicks, it stays near the top of the page; if you clicked "like" as well that recommends it.

NT means "no text". Meaning you said all you had to say in the title line and didn't add anything in the text box.

16. There's a "DU Rec" button

on the bottom left of every OP (Original Post). You'll see a number of recs already made (or zero for none yet). When you click DU Rec the number will change to include your vote.

17. Here's how (plus more jargon lessons)

Look at the OP (which is DU jargon for the original post that started the thread, in this case the post by DrunkenIrishman). Immediately under the text of the OP is a box with a number in it, and under that is a box that says "DU Rec". Left-clicking once on that second box gives the OP a "DU Recommendation". The number in the first box tells you how many DU members have given the post a recommendation (a "rec&quot .

There is no way to rec a post other than the OP. People who really like a response will sometimes reply to the response they like by posting something like "^^^ THIS ^^^", using the caret character to point up to the post they like.
