Things are going to get much worse. Even if somehow the Electoral College can successfully block Trump from reaching the inauguration, the brown shirts will escalate the violence. If Trump does reach the inauguration, the violence will escalate until he throws his supporters under the bus, and you know he will do that. We are approaching some very dark times here.

eventually, we're going to have a Henry II moment - some tweet will send a follower over the edge ("Will no one rid me of this meddlesome priest?&quot and the follower will go out & maim or kill somebody in Trump's name. Trump will then express shock that somebody would do that in his name, and TV news will debate if Trump went to far and is partly to blame - with Sean Hannity debating Joe Lieberman and Ann Coulter debating Joe Manchin...

deplorable would be thinking these things, your term describes the kind of people who would actually threaten and potentially act on these things.

Criminal investigations should be happening throughout the nation over these threats. Here in the Baystate a credible threat like this is a criminal act.

... there's no telling how big a group his devotees like this is. When I comment on anything on USA Today or sites like that, I get swarmed. I'm not sure if it's one idiot with a lot of accounts, several idiots or Russians. I do know it distorts reality though.

This is why I make NO EXCUSES for ANYONE who supported trump.

They all knew what he was spewing and his cult was applauding. He was encouraging hate, hate , hate and there is no excuse for anyone who supported that. I don't care if it was for selfish reasons that they did so.

In Ukraine and elsewhere similar patterns of using racial hate and right wing extremist surrogates against the established government and establishment politicians have been successfully used by Russian agents to amplify opposition and destabilize government.

I'm saying that Putin helped stir up the American extreme Right Wing racists to support Trump. He or his agents may also have fed Trump's campaign talking points and strategy, or assisted in other ways including Dark Money. I'm saying at the very least he tagged onto Trump's campaign to assist it, if he was not involved prior to the campaign as some have asserted.

There have been allegations made that Putin has been grooming Trump for the political stage for some time. The contention is based on among other things the degree that Trump is dependent on Russian investment and loans engineered by Putin's pals to keep Trump's empire of debt afloat. That debt to Russian sources is said to be the reason Trump has vigorously avoided financial disclosure and obfuscated over whether and when he will divest, or that he needs to do so.
