I wholy understand President Obama's desire to always take the high road.

And I never expected him to announce that he could do something extra-constitutional like call for new elections, nor would I have wanted him to take that drastic a step. The backlash would be extremely ugly.

But I worry that while he'll have an excellent historical legacy overall, his greatest regret will be that he took the Madman who succeeded him for granted and just assumed he'd do the right thing for the country. Because I don't think he will, and hurt most by the Madman will be the things that President Obama worked so hard for eight years to achieve.

The physical fight between dirty energy and climate is the titanic struggle of this century...with the winner being either quality of life or hell on earth.

The spiritual fight between greed and compassion is the megalithic challenge that is really at the heart of the universe and the point of the fight.

i wish I could write to tell you that this will all end well...??
We just elected one of the "-----------."

getting uglier by the day since Obama took office -- and not by his doing. The GOP has been pushing ugliness knowing Dems would take the high road for the past 8 years. When the fuck are we going to wake the fuck up and stand for something. Fascism is a hell of a lot uglier for most Americans than a pissed off group of Trumpsters ever could be. Lack of ugliness is nothing if you don't have dignity and the ability to pursue aspirations.

All of the other progress he made will be erased. And I bet even we'll be surprised at how fast that happens.

And it will be super ugly and Obama's legacy will be completely destroyed,
along with any vestige of the New Deal.

That was such a brazen act, lying us into war based on complete fabrications, and failing to make an example of the perpetrators opened the door to every kind of underhanded despicable lie and power grab the GOP can imagine for years to come.

This is not a fight where you want to take the high road. It's a fight for the survival of everything socially progressive, science based, and otherwise good within our country.

From what he said in his presser, he is advising Democrats to pursue something along the lines of a 50 state strategy. Spite and retribution may be satisfying but they don't win elections. He's not going to act like a child and throw a temper tantrum the way some would like.

and act like he is the daddy who can fix everything. It's ridiculous. There is nothing in the Constitution or law saying he can demand new elections or whatever harebrained thing they hoped he would do.
