Call me a snowflake one more time...

Last edited Sat Dec 17, 2016, 01:47 PM - Edit history (1)

In a friends facebook post, the now ubiquitous retort reared it's orange little head. This has become the go to response from right wing nuts when attacking valid criticism of their new daddy. The right winger also reiterated the argument that Americans (real Americans) want republicans in power because they now control all three branches of government and 2/3 of state legislatures.

This was my response...

I love the little snowflake insult. It's emasculating while being adorable. The reason republicans control so many positions in government is due mainly to gerrymandering districts to insure republican wins. And voter suppression in the communities that lean democratic. If a true popular vote were tallied in congressional and presidential races, Democrats would have had the presidency for the last 24 years and would have it for the next eight.

https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/wonk/wp/2015/03/01/this-is-the-best-explanation-of-gerrymandering-you-will-ever-see/?utm_term=.3390c55ecba1

The people spoke in this election and 2.8 million more voters chose Hillary than Trump.

In poll after poll, more Americans support Democratic ideas and goals than Republican (even on abortion, gun control and gay marriage, the the holy trinity of Republicanism).

Republicans do succeed in elections over Democrats in one area and that is fighting dirty, never giving up, and willing to do anything to win. That is about the only things Democrats should emulate from the Republican side. We are too forgiving, too apologetic, and too willing to let past slights and insults go.

If we want to win we need to go after them like Patrick, every day and never let them get away with anything. Hold them accountable for their failures and lies and do it in language they use; cheaters, liars, bullshit artists, unpatriotic , traitors. commie lovers, who need safe spaces from criticism. Trump and his supporters are a bunch of precious little snowflakes who can't stand it when people express their First Amendment rights and have to throw adorable little toddler tantrums when smart people chastise them or their daddy.

And a lot of the medicare, social security and Obamacare recipients are about to find out that the people they just voted into office are going to fuck them over so fast and so great it will make their heads spin. I mean it's going to be fanfuckingtastic, the best fuckover you have ever seen in your life.

Snowflakes are one of a kind, let's not forget. When being a goosestepping-zombie-clone is the other option I'll gladly own "snowflake" bring it on.

I have unfriended anyone on fb who showed the slightest hint of supporting Trump-- except for my husband's family--
and I have them blocked because he doesn't want me to hurt their poor widdle feelings.

Including links that bring these uncomfortable, inconvenient, funky little things called FACTS into the mix. Posts like this PROVE that we are right. That OUR side is right. That OUR side reflects the will of the people more than the bad guys ever could.

Have you noticed over the past 20 years or so - the incessant, almost desperate drumbeat that "America is a center-right country!" Repeat, repeat, repeat. Well, it's NOT true, and those Gallup polls prove it. It's NOT true. It's NEVER BEEN true. If anything, America is a center-LEFT country. We lean LIBERAL. We lean that way on a woman's right to choose. We lean that way on gun safety regulations. We lean that way on marriage equality. We lean that way on racial equality. We lean that way on climate change. We lean that way on unions. We lean that way on keeping church and state separate. We lean that way on voting rights. And we lean that way on not trusting Russia or Vladimir Putin. Yet we keep hearing how republi-CONS are really starting to warm up to Putin these days, 'eh? So that must be the way things are now, 'eh? If republi-CONS think that, it means EVERYBODY thinks that, 'eh?

I'm keeping a copy of this post, Mortos. It's verbal ammo. It's urgently necessary as a rebuttal tool. It's WUNNNderful!

I have been commenting in my local newspaper's website on these issues, warning Trump voters that these sacred rights can be removed by republicans. This needs to be put through the echo chamber as well as ideas that Trump is dangerous. Keep it up!

It's just that their message keeps being repeated over and over and ours isn't.
Their philosophy is that if you repeat a lie 5 times, people start believing it, or at least doubting the truth.

Today's trophy goes to...(Mortos)! With every whining liberal post, a conservative angel gets their wings. Of course it makes perfect sense that liberal failures have nothing to do with liberal ideology. Keep the posts coming! They are a daily reassurance to american voters who no longer think liberal temper tantrums are cute.

My response to his bullshit (and he completely missed every point I made, you know, like they do)

Don't those wings singe in hell?

Don't give them an inch, give 'em hell. Or just tell them the truth, and they will think it is hell.

Just remind them that they are "useful idiots" who have sold out the country to foreigners.

Then, their name calling will ratchet up.

Why? Because truth hurts and they can't handle recursive mentions of it. Keep pounding them for being a dupe.
