Trump shits in his supporters' mouths and they think it is ice cream.Last edited Sun Dec 18, 2016, 09:56 AM - Edit history (2)
Trump is the consummate bullshit artist. Always has been, always will be. We tried to tell people he was a fraud and con artist. He said he'd drain the swamp and all he has done is fill it with unqualified billionaire swamp monsters. Hillary will not be locked up. There will be no Great Wall Of Mexico Paid For By Mexico. There will be no 30 million jobs. Thousands of companies will not return. Tons of coals mines will not be re-opened. He said he would put tariffs on companies and instead, with Carrier, he did a tax cut giveaway for a company with 7 billion bucks in annual profits. The R's are going HARD after Social Security, Medicare, and Medicaid, and 20 million people (MANY of whom are Trump voters) are going to lose their health plan instantly. And now he is telling his supporters that all that crazy stuff he and THEY did and said in the campaign is OVER now that he was won because now he needs them to be "calm" and behave in a way that makes him seem more presidential.
These voters got SO had. They got taken to the cleaners. They got ROYALLY DUPED. Hopefully at least some are starting to wake up. And now we need to do our job. REFORM the Dem Party BIGTIME and tell the people just how DUPED they got from this lifelong professional bullshit artist who shits in people's mouths and they suck it down like it's ice cream.

1. At his latest rally Trump described his supporters as mean and nasty during the campaign.
Sure they were because that is what a Trump intended to forward his self interest. Now he tells them that they are calm and mellow because he thinks that is what will promote his self interest. TRANSLATION: Trump tells his supporters that he sees them as no more than his useful idiots and the tools gobble it up. There is no fixing stupid like this.

2. When I heard that remark...I was literally SMH and the brow furrow ran deep.
I am really hoping as time goes on ...followers will peel away. Now the die hards will eat his ice cream shit with glee....but moderate folks I sincerely hope will get tire of these bullshit shenanigans. People don't like drama and we have a freakin DRAMA QUEEN in the wH.

3. Just wait until they kill Medicare and cut Social Security.
Many people will still be paying the taxes for it, but won't get Medicare when they retire and a much smaller SS check. It's a recipe for revolution.

7. we will not win if we fight last year's battle
the time to win with our party & principles was more than 5 weeks ago
when 2018, let alone 2020, rolls around, we will be lucky to have a functioning democracy at all going forward, everything is in flux -- basic principles of civility that have been with us for a century or more are going out the window the people who, as you say, were duped would probably tell you that they were already getting duped by politicians for their whole lives, empty promises from genteel people with ivy league pedigrees and golden tongues who only pretended to care about them while feathering their own nests. finally they have their chosen leader -- someone who is openly blackhearted, misanthropic, obviously gives zero shits, but will fuck with EVERYONE including whichever people annoy them most. they'll revel in the lies because they're used to being lied to, and happily join in the persecution of "the other", whoever that happens to be at the time. this isn't pragmatism or self interest at work, it's retribution. we are about to see America's full potential for ugliness revealed on a scale few could have imagined 10 years ago. i don't know how to fight back successfully, but i don't see much hope in telling Trumpists they made a mistake. |

9. I agree with
this...
i don't know how to fight back successfully, but i don't see much hope in telling Trumpists they made a mistake.
and maybe the best course of action lies in NOT telling Trumpies they made a mistake. Let 'em figure it out on their own, you know? I liken it to something my mom should have learned when my sisters and I were in our teens and she wouldn't like some guy we were seeing. Her objections only caused us to try and defend the guy. Once she gave up, we were able to look more closely and realize on our own, without the mom input/interference, that the guy was a dog. So I believe that the less Democrats say about Trump, the more likely it will be that his supporters will see on their own... |
