Andrea Bocelli is rumored to sing at Donald Trumps inauguration next month, and not all of his fans are happy about it.
Though Bocelli has neither confirmed nor denied the reports that he will perform a duet with Americas Got Talent singer Jackie Evancho at the event, some of his fans have started a Boycott Bocelli movement should the Italian singer join in welcoming the President-elect to the White House on Jan. 20.

Many of his other fans expressed their disappointment and disapproval as well, with one even saying that he wouldnt have spent money on tickets to a Bocelli concert if he had known the tenor was a Trump supporter.

(24,324 posts)Some of his recording sessions were so bad, they finally just recorded the orchestra separately, and over-dubbed him later using auto-tune software. I would bet a dime on a dollar they use that as well for his live performances, depending on the venue and sound system situation..
And that's just his pitch issues...

(2,716 posts)I cannot imagine why he would put his reputation at risk. He has nothing to gain and everything to lose.
He's a great singer but not in the same class as Pavarotti. My Italian friends say he is a good balladeer but not so much as an operatic tenor.
I put an article about the boycott on Twitter and got into a tweeting war with the business editor of the local rag from the city I lived in for seventy years. They don't seem to mind identifying themselves as Trumpers. Let's see how long that lasts.

(823 posts)...who I am a big fan of, is getting a lot of flak on her sites as well. She doesn't deserve it. She has defended her transgender sister, LGBT rights and has been attacked verbally and online about it in the past. She has sung for Obama two times. I don't have a problem with her singing the National Anthem, which is what she will be doing. It's sung every 4th of July regardless of who is the president. The gig with Bocelli is still up in the air as it is not confirmed yet that he will be participating. She will probably be gone before the swearing in starts as she has a concert the next day and has to catch a plane.

(5,914 posts)No way would I ever perform at anything this beast had anything to do with, even tangentially.
Unless I saw it as an opportunity to pull off a Sinead O'Connor and let the world know exactly what we all think of him on live TV.
Fuck that guy. Anything that anyone does to play along with his game normalizes him, and he's NOT NORMAL!
