Trump's Proposed Ambassadors to Israel wants to move the US Embassy to Jerusalem.

Proposed ambassador David Friedman said that he looks forward to working with the US Embassy in Israel's capital, Jerusalem.

This is an absolute break with diplomatic history, has the American Embassy has never been situated in Jerusalem. Placing our embassy there would be interpreted as clearly endorsing pro-settlement growth in Israel. This would scuttle the two nation approach of the United States has taken for decades.

How long before terroristic jihadi fighters seek to do damage to the United States people and our interest?

Answer--not long at all.

This heavy-handed approach to the delicate relationship between Israel and her neighbors will greatly unspool the progress that previously had been made.

I sure as hell hope that the Joint Chiefs Of Staff and other experts will speak emphatically to President-elect Trump about the dangers of snubbing the Palestinians and other non-Israeli players in the Middle East.

I believe a major disaster is just around the corner, and this may well be the first of many terrible outcomes.

Take a look at the Huffington Post article from yesterday on this question:

Any thoughts about this?

recognize Jerusalem as the capital of what is called "Greater Israel". And "Greater Israel" encompasses all of what was Palestine.

The GOP is simply formalizing what both parties know to be the ultimate goal of the Israeli Government.

Every Democrat but one (Robert Byrd) in the Senate voted in favor (four Republicans were opposed).

Voting in favor: Ted Kennedy, Paul Wellstone, Joe Biden, Russ Feingold, Pat Leahy, Harry Reid, and so on.

Law and treaties to the contrary, this bi-partisan acceptance of "facts on the ground" is why the Palestinians have no real hope that the West will do anything as their country is dismantled, and walled off, and converted into bantustans filed with second class virtual prisoners.

That was in the same year.

The Palestinian leader called it "the peace of the brave" at the time.

Of course, the Israeli PM was killed shortly thereafter.

But some members of the current government have specifically stated that there will never be no two solution. And the US will protect the Israeli State's right to refuse to follow applicable laws and treaties.

As to Sadat, that was an internal Egyptian problem.

That's all.

Just don't make the finding, and the law holds.

having our Israel embassy in Israel. It makes more sense than having it in Scotland.
