(57,885 posts)I used to live right next to Rock Creek Park on Connecticut Avenue and used the Metro every day. The Metro goes a long ways into the surrounding states, like VA and MD. If you can't find someone to give you their floor for the night, I suggest you look at this map of the Metro and find cheap motels you at your friend could share at the end of one of the Metro lines.

Also, a lot of the last stops on the various Metro lines have parking, as you can see on the map. So if you are driving from a nearby state, you can just park there early in the morning, take the Metro into DC, then take the Metro back to the parking lot and drive home.
