Interesting post I received a FB today

Got this at my FB page today it is from a friend of my wife.
Don't know how yo make it happen but it sounds awesome to me. I watch and donate.

You may have heard that the organizers of the inauguration are freaking out that the performers will be limited to Kid Rock and Ted Nugent.

So....what if there was a televised "freedom concert" with huge celebrities like: Beyoncé and Jay Z, Madonna, Katy Perry, Justin Timberlake, Gaga, Bruce Springsteen, etc., that aired at the same time as the inauguration. What would the president elect think knowing he was not the ratings winner that evening?

And what if all the proceeds of the concert went to: the ACLU, Planned Parenthood, Lambda Legal, NAACP, CAIR, IRAP, SPLC, Environmental Defense Fund, etc.

Alec Baldwin could be the MC for the evening!

Let's make it happen! Copy & Paste, don't share, or else only your mutual friends will see it.

I bet some broadcasting corp would have to give it at very least a little coverage.

Can you imagine the number of eyeballs watching something like that, vs. .....Ted the molester? The ad revenue would be......Huuuge, Huuuge, I tell you. Believe me.

Seriously, with corporate America, it's all about the money and nothing but the money. The networks would fall all over themselves to carry it. Network execs would sell their grandchildren for this.

OK, just to play devil's advocate..Suppose trump threatened whatever media outlet agrees to show it as he threatens everybody and everything else that he doesn't like or who opposes him?

all the time for any number of different things. That's just a cost of doing business. Threats of retaliation wouldn't pass constitutional muster anyway. From a legal standpoint, Trumpkin doesn't have a leg to stand on.

32. Threaten away

Dec 2016

His threats are empty and don't mean squat. It would be a huge revenue source with ratings sky-high! And - this is the best part - there will be more and more and more protests, ridicule, and resistance to Trump and his Fascist pals. We will so drive down his approval ratings. Within a year, his approval rating will drop down to about 28%. That's because the GOP legislation that he sign will hurt people, and he will flub and embarrass each and every international incident that pops up. Get ready to make lots and lots of raspberries at him.

4. great idea

Dec 2016

It's a brilliant idea. A freedom concenrt in Los Angeles with A-list starts. Networks will have to cover at least some of them. Definatey cable tv like E!, BET, etc. Not to mention that the entire social media will be saturated with this event blocking inauguration entirely.

It is important that young people stay on our side.

I understand there is also an argument that we've had more than enough celebreties and it didn't help us win (or maybe made it worse even). But this would be a charity event fighting against racism, women rights, etc. As long as trump's name is not mentioned at all.

Can't claim it's about him. I have nothing to celebrate that day. Most of us have zero interest in kid rock or Poopy-pants Nugent mouthing off their vulgar hate speech. I really don't care about watching Beyonce, etc, either.

Then they ended up crashing our economy—luckily for the Dems the crash happened just before Bush left office.

This election is convincing me more and more that the average citizen doesn't give 2 shits what celebrities think, especially politically, and having celebrities lecture the rest of the country on who to vote for may actually be turning off voters.

Or at least if we're going to do "celebrities," let's do individuals who are famous for heroic efforts, whether local or national: armed services personnel, someone who founded a dog shelter in their local community, someone who works with individuals with special needs, etc.

could get on board. Who needs MSM with other sites. It could be done as a free concert and might even draw new businesses to these streaming sites.

Fandango could get involved and find movie theaters that would let them have special events that people could attend.

MSM needs to learn the lesson that they ARE NOT the only game in town.
